SOFT's client. located in Newark, NJ needs an AWS Cloud Engineer Data Lake for a long term, contract assignment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • A senior cloud engineer with provable experience configuring, deploying, and supporting a big data analytics platform within AWS using Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Glue, Lake formation.
  • As a Cloud Engineer assigned to the Data Analytics Team, you will work to build, manage and support our journey to fully leverage the technology benefits of the Cloud platform with focus on big data and data lakes.
  • The Cloud Engineer is involved in the full technology life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, automating, configuring, testing, implementing and supporting infrastructure and software in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • The Cloud Engineer will work closely with Technical Architects, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Product Managers to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions
  • Design, configuration, development, documentation and testing of technology solutions to meet business or technology requirements.
  • Evaluation of existing technology solutions to determine fit for purpose for the new business or technology requirements.
  • Recommendation of technology alternatives. Collaboration with other individuals to ensure proper integration of the new technology solution with the existing technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of Glue, athena, redshift, and sagemaker
  • Evaluates existing technology solutions and platforms and provides recommendations for improving technology performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of needed modifications.
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders such as enterprise architects, software development, operations, cybersecurity and infrastructure to integrate applications and hardware.
  • Conducts design and change record peer reviews in support of upcoming changes. Peer reviews may be required as part of contractual obligation in cases when the content subject to peer review is completed and submitted by an outside party.
  • Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall.
  • Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation.

  • Development and deployment of production infrastructure as code
  • Design, development, and deployment of production monitoring and AIOPSAbility to work independently and multi-task effectively.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Glue, Sagemaker, and Lakeformation.
  • Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or AWS Certified Developer Associate or equivalent Big Data Certificate
  • Provable experience with and understanding of core AWS services (such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Route53, RDS, Lambda and CloudFormation) uses and basic architecture best practices

DESIRED SKILLS
  • Experience with AWS Lambda functions using Python, Java, Node.js and/or C#
