SOFT's client located in Remote is looking for a Scrum Master for a long term contract assignment.
  • Position requires an experienced professional with a full understanding and experience with execution of agile practices. Scrum Master provides varying levels of delivery management oversight and directly influences activities on business-critical efforts. Scrum Master serves as a single point-of-contact for removing impediments and coaching the team through challenges, uses industry-standard best practices in order to assure delivery of goals, objectives, milestones and deliverables, as well as compliance with all discipline processes and governance channels.
  • In this role, an individual will be supporting 3 agile teams.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a primary communication hub between various functional departments and the teams to foresee risks, formulate plans, and organize activities to ensure sprints are completed on time.
  • Guards the agile team from external requests and disruptions.
  • Acts as a change agent and adapts processes to maximize productivity of the team.
  • Coaches PO on the roadmap and backlog management
  • Coaches the agile team on user story writing, sizing and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Drives development of release and sprint roadmaps.
  • Removes impediments for the agile team.
  • Ensures efficient communication between the agile team and the Product Owner.
  • Coordinates and facilitates sprint planning and task definition, sprint execution, impediment removal and tracking, sprint review, and retrospectives.
  • Partners with project and release managers in production deployment activities as necessary.
  • Works with Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, and to keep work backlog health and prepared for execution.
  • Develops reports on sprint execution status, schedule, and agile metrics such as velocity and cycle time.
  • Keeps team accountable for delivering on planned outcomes (Program Increment and sprint)
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Scrum Master.
  • Certified ScrumMaster and SAFe Scrum Master certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with agile tools, such as Jira, Rally, etc.
  • Understanding of iterative and incremental development.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading agile teams.
