SOFT's client located in South Plainfield, NJ is looking for a Contract Analyst for a long term contract assignment.

Job Requirements:
  • Provide substantive and administrative support in the area of contract management for the project management, project controls, and construction management processes of the Electric T&D organization.
  • Participate in “cradle to grave” contract management, from early involvement with developing the scope of work, RFx process, contract negotiation, contract award, contract maintenance, through contract closeout.
  • Review contracts to identify key contract rights and obligations, prepare contract summaries, and ensure that all company and contractor obligations are met within prescribed deadlines.
  • Continuously manage contract implementation and monitoring to ensure compliance by both company and contractor.
  • Participate in or lead project meetings and field visits to construction sites.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Communicate and champion processes and information transfer to maximize implementation of improvement opportunities. Identify and document gaps in contractor performance and make recommendations for improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze data to support contractor/vendor evaluations.
  • Establish/measure/analyze contractor performance and recommend/take appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Provide support and problem resolution to project management in coordination with the appropriate Service Company partners (Legal, Procurement, Tax, Enterprise Risk Management, etc.).
  • Demonstrate teamwork; work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, leading and following as needed.
Essential Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract administration and management
  • Expertise in contract review and interpretation
  • Analytical ability, business sense, highly motivated
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Must be able to attend off-site meetings as required
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:• Relevant advanced degree (J.D. preferred)
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
  • General knowledge of electric and/or gas field operations
  • General knowledge of uniform commercial code and contract law
  • Experience in a project, construction, utility, or industrial business environment
  • Experience negotiating contract disputes
  • Experience conducting bid events
  • Business and legal writing experience
  • Experience with project management and document management software tool applications (Sharepoint, McLaren, SAP, P6, etc.)
