SOFT's client, located in Lowell, MA is looking for a Lead Engineer for a long term contract assignment. A bachelor's degree in engineering is required along with the ability to work on-site assignment. Job Purpose • Research, install, and configure data interfaces from plant instrumentation and control systems to SCADA systems. • Provide plant operations and performance engineers with reliable data and graphic representations of plant systems for evaluating key plant performance indicators. • Introduce new instrumentation interface technologies to plant management to assist in performance improvement methods and techniques. • Maintain knowledge of current networking and instrumentation interface technologies. • Maintain required security on critical computer systems and networked devices installed and used in the plants. • Support asset management functions by providing appropriate, timely data to asset management and operators. • Knowledge of NERC CIP requirements pertaining to critical cyber assets and operational technology (OT). • Develop departmental standards and management of internal/external project compliance to standards to ensure optimum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, safety, and security. Key Accountabilities • Protect plant critical cyber assets from unauthorized access. • Successful disaster recovery techniques. • Higher availability of critical data to marketers, operators, plant engineers, and marketers. • Successful integration of plant instrumentation to data acquisition systems. • Verify/Oversee that contractor work is performed safely, on time, with the agreed. • Work closely with Process Safety, Operations, Key Stakeholders, and Contractors to ensure maximum efficiency in developing the asset project plan. • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Experienced with ladder, statement, and function block programming languages. • Required industrial network experience and detailed knowledge of secure configuration fundamentals for industrial and safety systems. • Good project management skills, including management of risk for the delivery of projects to scope, time, and cost. • Demonstrated technical capabilities in instrumentation and data acquisition systems, software, and hardware. • Strong interpersonal skills and effective people management skills. • Creative, Innovative, Adaptable, and Flexible. Able to work with current plant systems. • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge in a working environment. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. • 3 years + of process plant experience or other appropriate experience. • 5 years + of instrumentation and control systems experience. |
