SOFT's client is looking for an Engineering Transmission System Operations Support consutlant for a hybrid role in office T, W, Th each week.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the updating, verify the accuracy, and identify improvements for the Transmission Outage Application (TOA)
o Audit existing iTOA and TOA applications to ensure that all devices in the Energy Management System (EMS) that operators switch on exist in the applications (EMS, electrical system one lines, and TOA) with the correct designations. o Validate that all switching steps that operators utilize for these devices are properly configured within the TOA. o Establish controls to ensure this data remains accurate. o Explore opportunities to utilize digital switching features in ORCA/iTOA to reduce operator switching on paper.
• Operator Station Notes and Customer Operating Instructions (OI) Development and Maintenance
o Recreate Rhode Island (RI) Station Notes documents that match the standard formatting of our Pennsylvania (PA) station notes. o Help to maintain existing station notes documents to reflect system changes. o Update and standardize Customer OIs
• Support the development of operational procedures for focus areas such as:
o Operations study best practices o EMS modeling best practices and process improvements o EMS advanced application configurations o EMS alarming optimization o EMS facility rating improvements and best practices
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associate degree or in lieu of a degree, 1-2 years of industry related experience will be considered. • Experience or knowledge of electric system operations; familiarization with operations and engineering one-line schematic diagrams. |
