| SOFT is conducting a search for a SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR in NYC. This is a hybrid position requiring the following qualifications: Responsibilities: Maintaining key systems in collaboration with others on the infrastructure team. You will be working with various business and program areas, his/her IT team, outside vendors and organizations to maintain the high-performance levels required to support the objectives of the organization.
Responsible for managing and maintaining Client’s multi-site Windows Server and VM environment including: - Windows Server/Active Directory administration
- Server and network backup configuration and management
- Mobile device config and mgmt.
- Exchange and Directory File Services management and administration
- Participation in infrastructure and network projects ie: setup, configuration and support of new technology
- Hardware, security, software improvements as needed for infrastructure
- Security audits and intrusion testing activities/remediation
- Disaster preparedness
- Security and antivirus protection administration
Exchange & Directory Files Services Administration - Hardware and software patch and release levels for servers and associated applications
- Power Shells scripting. Document scripts and record changes
- Administration of logs, mailboxes, accounts, mail groups, personal and Share folders
- Troubleshoot and resolve Exchange or DFS related issues
- Resolve mailbox issues as needed
- Troubleshoot and Monitor backup and replication process
- Ensure proper Security access procedures are implemented and maintained
Backup Administration - Schedule, monitor and report on all network server backups, adjusting backup schedules to guarantee data availability and system performance
- Perform system and data restores to support business requirements
- Implement and maintain data archiving
- Maintenance on backup jobs, including all file and email servers
- Troubleshoot/resolve backup issues
- Verify completion of scheduled backup jobs daily
System Administration - Provide maintenance and support of physical and virtual servers, including monitoring, verifying available server resources, patching or updating software and hardware
- Perform day-to-day administration of Active Directory, including creating, disabling, or removing AD user accounts
- Manage the Group Policy policies, implementation and file permission assignments
- Maintain and extend ADFS services as required
- Review system audit logs and alerts as required
Other - Adhere to all defined standards for naming, documentation, and security with regards to network server-related systems
- Ensure security standards are implemented and maintained. Report any violations
- Implement, maintain and manage remote support process and procedures. (Cisco VPN, AirWatch)
- Perform network server hardware, firmware and system software installations and configurations
- Maintain currency of software and firmware patches and updates on network server-based systems and infrastructure
- Implement servers, containers, or other related projects in conjunction with internal and external resources.
- Create and maintain current documentation related to areas of responsibility
- Monitor, log and execute appropriate responses based on enterprise monitoring device information
Positions Requirements: - 3-5 years in a Windows System administration role or equivalent
- 3+ years MS-Exchange and Directory File Services administration
- Experience and knowledge - MS SQL Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Group Policy, PowerShell, Inky
- Virtualization implementation and administration – VMware, vSphere, ESXi hosts
- Excellent Storage knowledge and experience – HP3PAR, NetApp
- System Backup/Restore - Veeam,
- Excellent knowledge of Network and hardware technologies - switches, routers, firewalls - CISCO
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to express technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well independently and with people of varying degrees of technical expertise.
- Solid communication and negotiation skills with 3rd party vendors, IT staff and business areas
- Desire to grow and capability to learn.
- BS/BA Computer Science or equivalent
- MCSE, CCNA, VCP a plus
