Job Description - Data Catalog Developer

Key Activities
· Develop scalable solutions and increase operational efficiency for the Collibra Data Catalog. Examples include metadata / data cataloging initiatives, integrations with source systems, data access enablement, business data taxonomies and relationships, and data quality frameworks.
· Participates in activities that require hands-on configuration of the Data Catalog platform including UI screens, dashboards, views, asset page layout.
· Participates in activities involving meta model design and management. Designs, configures and supports use cases that require meta model changes. Provides technical assessment of impact and guidance on how to best model assets, attributes and relations.
· Work directly with stakeholders to facilitate adoption of data management practices using the Data Catalog platform.
· Work directly to support stakeholders from across the System to align on the adoption of strategies, standards, processes and best practices to deliver seamlessly integrated data solutions.
· Works closely with data stewards and data owners to ensure data governance and data management standards and best practices are followed when using the Data Catalog
· Analyze platform and technology changes and evaluate against organizational needs and environments to provide recommendations and actionable steps for capability development and advancement.
· Provides expert support to stabilize new services/products and formulate plans to implement the recommendations.
· Lead deployments for metamodel and other UI components within a federated environment.
· Collaborates with teams to identify and resolve issues with the Collibra Data Catalog platform and documents guidelines, processes and procedures for corrective and preventive actions that ensure operational effectiveness.
· Acts as a Level 2 expert on the Data Catalog issues/discrepancies identified to investigate/confirm root causes and proposes remediations along with ES operations, NIT EDS and/or IT teams and drive the fixes in a collaborative manner.


Qualifications and Experience:
· At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Collibra Data Catalog including workflow development using APIs, integrations, Edge, metamodel management,
· At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Python or Java, API development
· Work experience with Collibra deployments across multiple environments using CMA or other scalable tools. Special consideration for deployment in a federated environment.
· Experience with data mesh framework
· Experience using AWS cloud services, Databricks, Starburst, Immuta
· Thorough understanding of systems and processes which produce data supply chains and support practical implementation of data lifecycle management, including discoverability, accessibility, and quality.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical professionals and to translate business needs into technical requirements and tasks.
· Experience with agile practices and product management.
· Recommends processes for data governance, data cataloging, and curation within the data management system. Collaborates and educates the business on the value of metadata management, analytics, business intelligence, and operational capabilities.
· Stays abreast of new business developments and data/metadata needs as well as related capabilities and technologies with counterparts and stakeholders in other RBs and across the System. Develops and implements strategy, goals, and priorities for unit.
