SOFT's client, located in Newark, NJ is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long term contract assignment. Particular focus on month-end closing, bank reconcilliation and cash application.

Responsibilities:
• Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Make recommendations on policies, systems and procedures.
• Offers suggestions on resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
• Must have thorough knowledge of accounting methods, principals, practices and the ability to apply the knowledge.
• Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Assist with special projects as requested.

Requirements:
• Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
• Demonstrated ability to apply and follow job related policies and procedures.
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
• Persistence needed in order to resolve problems quickly.
• Ability to work independently in team oriented culture.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting is preferred, experience in the field or in a related area.
